Miscellaneous Consular Services

It has been decided to outsource Miscellaneous Consular services to VFS Global with effect from 07/04/2017.

From 07 April 2017, application forms for Miscellaneous Consular services will be accepted at the centres in Madrid, Barcelona and Las Palmas. Applications for Miscellaneous Consular services can be deposited at any of the centres, depending on the convenience of the applicant irrespective of the place of residence of the applicant. The addresses of these centres are given below:

From 07/04/2017 onwards, applications by post/Money Orders will not be accepted at the Embassy of India in Madrid.

Applications for the following services will be received at the VFS Global at the above mentioned addresses:

Issue of Birth Certificate based on the information in the Passport
Marriage Certificate
Relationship Certificate
Divorce Certificate
Nationality Certificate
Supplementary Police Clearance Certificate
Good Conduct Certificate
Surrender of Passport Certificate
Attestation services for legal documents

Embassy has not appointed or authorized any other agency or individual agent to render any Miscellaneous Consular service on behalf of the Embassy and it shall not be responsible for any transaction made with unauthorized agencies / agents.

Applications for the following services will be received directly at the Embassy of India (Avenida Pío XII, 30-32, 28016 Madrid):

Attestation of Sworn Affidavits & Self Declarations
Attestation of Power of Attorney
Attestation of Life Certificate (for pension purpose)
Registration of Death of Indian nationals
Registration of Birth
Registration Certificate

Office Timings : 09.00 hours and 12.00 hours on all working days. There is no need to take an appointment for submitting application(s) for Consular Services in the Embassy. Consular Services are rendered on first-come-first-serve basis. (See Holiday List)

Original Documents Verification : Applicants for Consular Services are required to submit their Passports and all other documents in original along with a self-attested photocopy. All original documents are generally returned after scrutiny on the same day or on next working day along with the attested documents; in case original documents are not returned, applicants should ask for the same.

Mode of payment : Fee for Consular Services is accepted only by Cash.
