Bapu at 150: Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi

The officials of Embassy and staff members along with Indian Community commemorated the 149th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi with floral offering at Gandhi statue at Plaza de Juan Miró, Paseo de la Castellana on 2nd October 2019. Later a function was organized at the Embassy on the evening of October 2, 2018 at 6.30pm to celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.The ceremony organised at the Chancery included address by Chargé d'affaires Mr. Siddhartha Chattopadhyay, unveiling the special crowd-sourced logo, launch of Bapu@150 Quiz 2018-2019, release of Mahatma Gandhi Commemorative Stamps, switching on event of LED Projections to showcase the short film "Relevance of Bapu´s message in the Contemporary World" and the screening of the Gujarati hymn "Vaishnav Jan Toh Tene Kahiye Je" sung by Condesa Eylo Alfonso Choir in Valladolid for the Mission and the Medley version sung by artists from 126 countries. The Mission also organised an exhibition on the Embassy Premises which included the logos, commemorative stamps, images of Mahatma and cartoons based on Mahatma.
