Indo-Spanish Call for Industrial R&D Proposals in Cleantech, ICT and Smart Cities (Last date for Submission 15th April, 2015)

Dear Sir/Madam,

CDTI - Spain's National Innovation Agency (Secretariat of State for Research, Develoment and Innovation, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Spain) has launched a Collaborative Industrial R&D Program jointly with the Department of Science and Technology (DST, India) and GITA.

In the frame of this Program a new Indo-Spanish Call for Industrial R&D Proposals was launched last 20th November 2014 focussing on ICT, Cleantech and Smart Cities. The last date for submission of application is April 15, 2015.

GITA is a Not-for-profit Company, incorporated jointly by the Technology Development Board (TDB) of the Department of Science & Technology (DST), GoI and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

In India, funding will be limited up to 50% of the total eligible Indian project cost with a limit of INR 1.50 Crores per project. Industry would receive Secured Soft Loan (@3 %, per annum, Simple interest) and the partnering academic/research organizations (if any) could receive grants-in-aid up to 100% of their part of eligible cost.

CDTI, Spain is a public entity under the Secretariat of State for Research, Development and Innovation, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness charged to promote and finance industry-driven R&D projects (industrial research, experimental development) developed by Spanish companies at national and international level, and promote Spanish technologies in foreign markets via innovation and technology adaptation projects.

In Spain, funding will be up to 75% (exceptionally up to 85%) of the total eligible Spanish project cost at an annual interest rate equivalent to EURIBOR (Euro Interbank Offered Rate). Soft loan must be a paid back to CDTI in 10 years' time with initial moratorium from 2 to 3 years. Out of the 75% soft loan granted to the awarded companies, up to 20% (large corporations), 25% (SMEs) and 30% (SMEs participating for the first time in CDTI's international programs) may be considered as grant-in-aid, and therefore, non reimbursable.

The focus areas for current RFP are: Smart Cities, Clean Technologies and Information & Communication Technology (ICT).
