1. E-Visa

E- Visa Scheme extended to Spain and Andorra. E-Visa facility is available for holders of Spanish passports with effect from November 3, 2015. The e-Visa scheme requires eligible Spanish nationals to apply four days in advance and obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization before travelling to India. It may be noted that the visa is not being granted on arrival at the airport.

2. Regular Visa

VFS Global has been authorized to accept applications for all categories of visas and to collect fees and service charges. They also offer an optional service to return passports to applicants by courier.

There are three VFS offices in Spain located at Madrid, Barcelona & Las Palmas. All applicants for Visa are requested to approach VFS office in their area. The contact addresses of VFS centres are as under:

3. Visa Applications for Diplomatic/Official Passport Holders-

  1. Since 12 April 2018, holders of Spanish diplomatic passports are exempt from requiring a visa to travel to India. Nationals from the Kingdom of Spain, holding valid diplomatic passports, may enter into the territory of the Republic of India, for official or private visits, without a visa for stays of a duration not exceeding ninety (90) days within any period of one hundred and eighty (180) days.
    Please Note- Holders of Spanish diplomatic passports entering India with the aim of accreditation will be required to previously obtain the necessary visa.
  2. Visa applications from holders of Diplomatic/Official passports can only be presented directly at the Embassy of India in Madrid on all working days from 09:00 hrs to 12:30 hrs without prior appointment. Applications can also be deposited by a representative designated by the applicant. The procedure for submission of visa application for Diplomatic/Official Passports holders are as under:

Documents required:

  • Print out of the online Visa Application Form: duly filled in and signed.
  • Official Note Verbal
  • Two recent passport-size photographs (2 inch x 2 inch) with white background
  • Passport of the Applicant valid for at least next 180 days and carrying two blank pages
